After graduating from Otis Parson’s Art Institute in 1992, Amireh Parstabar went on to design clothing for six years. Rapz started in 1999 when she decided to make the jump that all designers dream of and start a line of her own. A uniquely stylish jewelry line was the creation. Something that Amireh had been passionate about for many years.
“Anytime I design, the first challenge I give myself is how to mix textures, patterns and colors which are not commonly seen together in a symbiotic way” Amireh explains.
The line debuted in various fashion boutiques in Los Angeles. Over the years, as the designs have evolved the client list has grown to such elite stores as Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel, Neiman Marcus Catalog, Saks Fifth Avenue, Fred Segal, Nordstrom, Anthropology and numerous other fashion boutiques worldwide.
Since its launch, Rapz has been featured in many fashion magazines such as: Glamour, Mademoiselle, Italian Vogue and In-Style. Rapz necklaces and earrings have also accented the style of many “A List” celebrities and have appeared on several prime time television shows.
Amireh and her team currently design Rapz’ signature pieces at the corporate office in downtown Los Angeles.
